My 7 month old is huge on finger foods, adn I always encourage her, lately her taste in food has become strange to me. Her favorite meal is boiled bell peppers, carrots, squash zuccini and onion and hard boiled egg yolk. As wierd as it is Its all healthy so I dont mind making it, but is she too young to be eating these foods?

First you should consult your child's Pediatrician, and ask . The second thing that you need to be very watchful of is your child's weight. We see a young infant and they are fat, we hear some one say She is so healthy looking but that may not be the case at all. Fat babies grow up to be fat adults, and that I don't wish on anyone. Don't trust any one of us in here, as well intentioned as we may be, we can be wrong, and it costs us nothing, but you will have to live with your choice, God bless you and you family

If she hasnt had any bad reactions by now then I guess it's ok although personally I would go easy on the egg yolks...too many arent good for anyone. Kids go through strange cycles in their eating...my middle son went for weeks on spinach once and then again on lamb kidneys for crying out loud...lol Keep trying her on new things...maybe a little chicken or beef boiled in the mixture she is already eating. She sounds like a sweetheart.

Being a mother myself of a 2 year old. I remember worring about every little thing. My son loved his veggies too. And if she wants to eat healthy now is the time to get her started. As long as she can chew it there is not problem as far as I can tell you. My son was about the same age when he started grabbing for his grandfathers onions. I think eating healthy is why my son is so smart as well. He just turned 2 yesterday and he can already count to 10, knows most of his ABC'c, and working on his colors. Bottom line, as long as she has color in her face, a smile on her mouth, and stars in her eyes she will be fine. (Thats an old family saying to help new mothers from worring.) If you still have a question in your mind about it. Talk to your doctor.

Wow Amanda!!!! It is soooo wonderful to hear about a young mum who is not feeding her baby ready made baby food!!!Not only that you are feeding her ! Many mums try to put off solids.... they even continue putting rice cereal in their bottles to stave off hunger, when they know the baby is hungry! Why aren't they feeding them real food???i don't know why and i hate to think of all the hungry bubbies! And you are feeding her healthy food, and teaching her to have a diverse palate! Double triple good on you!!!!
Obviously the egg is fine or you would of known by now!! Just a few a week though!
And how will she get fat eating healthy food? i would be more worried about commercial baby food, most have added sugar, colour and flavouring!
Wow!!!You go Mummy!*******************

I'd show some concern about the egg. If I'm remembering correctly we were told to hold off until our boys were at least a year old for eggs. The allergy risk is higher before then. I would'nt give her more eggs until you've spoken to the Dr. I'sd also be concerned about the peppers causing indigestion, but if she seems to do fine with them go ahead.

as long as she's not getting constipation or anything of the sort, I'm sure it's okay. I think my biggest concern would be gas. Sometimes veggies can make you gassy, and sometimes that can be painful on little tummys. I would keep gas drops on hand, just in case.

Nope, and good job on encouraging her to eat lots of different, highly flavored food. I doubt you will have to deal with a picky eater later on.

Feed her what she likes. If she likes veggies at this age it's a very good sign for her future eating habits.

The best person to ask about foods is your daughter's doctor. He/she will know what's best with her and will be able to say if she's ready for that type of food.
