im emo and people in my school come up to me and say hurtful things like i hope next time you cut too deep.I dont cut myself!!!!!!!!!!!On bebo there are bands like emos are f***kers and things like that.My teachers think im suicidal.And there isnt any emo clothes for the avators. When i startd being emo i lost close friends and on peoples bebo pages they have things on it like i wish my lawn was emo because then it would cut its self! ITS NOT FAIR!!! :*(

your right its not fair, but its the same for asians,lebs, blacks, whites, overweight, anorexic, handicapped, drug atticks, and bisexuals there are just some people out there just not willing to be open minded, and unfortunatly theres nothing you can do. Just enjoy being who you are because if you werent emo they would just find something else. some people are lame and not willing to understand that not all those i listed above are the same and sadly all it takes is for a few people from different race or group to do something wrong and ruin it for every one else

When polite society won't bash blacks or gays or mormons, it makes up fake categories like "nerd" or "emo" and bashes away at the people it wants to label that.
Of course it isn't fair. The people doing this are idiots with no idea of right from wrong, no sense of the difference between intelligent behavior from what they do every day all their lives.
Ignore them. You're better than that.

I guess I am getting old, because I don't have the slightest clue what an "emo" is. I am only 31; I didn't think I would be out of the loop this soon.

Emo people based on their emotions to make judgements and in managing other people. I've been a victim of emo bosses and sure I don't like it at all. That's all.

Ok, your not emo if you don't cut yourself. Just be Goth. Emo is a young person who is considered to be over-emotional about imperfections in his or her life and tries to harm themselves. And you probably lost friends because they thought you were gonna cut yourself to death. I think your probably just gonna grow out of your "emo" phase.

You're forgetting that it is a choice, you weren't born like that. You can like the music etc without jeopardizing friendships and receiving funny looks. You shouldn't have to compromise for people, but perhaps it'll be easier.

Emo is a dark culture and people tend to disassociate themselves from the dark side. Anyone who is different is criticized. Geeks,poor people,gypsies and yes even emo.
