She could mean you are only answering things you know the RIGHT answer for. Social Studies does not ask "quiz questions" (where the answer is in the back of the book), but questions to make you explore things outside your normal experience.

For example, what cultural background does your teacher come from? Next elective project, research the history of that area and find what problems the population faced that helped shape their character. What countries did that have as historical enemies?

By looking to answer questions you know nothing about, that is taking a risk ... it would also show an apprieciation of others to help work co-operatively with next time.

1 tip to pay attention - Don't hold a pen or pencil while the teacher is speaking. This prevents yourself from doodling on your paper.

Also, it's best to sit right in front. Teachers have good impressions on students who do this. It also helps you to focus.

Last minute studies don't work! Some people think that their minds are fresher when they study at the last minute. It isn't true! Nothing much gets into your head. What I suggest is you study for at least 1 and a half hours after school for whatever topic you learnt that day. You'll breeze through tests, because you've already memorized so much!

for social studies, ask your teacher if she could help you after class, or talk to the rents about getting a tutor. as far as behavior goes, ask your teacher what you're doing wrong, and how you could improve on it. (tip: DON'T get defensive and say "i'm not doing that!" because teachers HATE HATE HATE that and she probably won't help you then.) also try to cut the talking during class
