Oh dear ..not a nice issue, but it has to be dealt with. As I was the manager at my last place of work it was my responsibility to take care of the staff, and Ive had a couple of incidents over the yrs regarding B.O. male and female. The main priority is to be diplomatic. I had 3 stages..(1) Inform the staff that I had put toiletries in the bathrooms for them to use. (2) I would give the member of staff in question a collection of toiletries saying that I didn't want/need them. (3) If they didn't get the hint..which most don't because they don't know that they have a hygiene problem. Would tell them discreetly as possible.
B.O. isn't because some one doesn't wash, it can be a number of things. I had a case where it was because a young girl hadn't changed or washed her uniform and it turned out, she had left home and was staying in Motel.
Also be aware of their feelings...humiliation, embarrassment and self pride is not some thing you would want to feel in one hit..

You could tell them but you should know that theres more than one medical problem that they could have that makes it hard for them to control BO. Like kidney failure, for example, makes your breath bad and you aren't suppose to use deodorant if you have kidney failure. Also some people sweat excessively because of a problem with their glands or something. And thats just the stuff I know about and I'm not a doctor!

Get them some Mitchum roll on - it's perfect for real problem perspiration, and leave it with some showergel suitable to their gender on their desk. They should get the hint. If they find it and go ballistic just make sure you have the backing of colleagues when you tell them they smel!

You know I have always wondered about that, because I have this problem at school sometimes.
On one hand, you should tell them to serve yourself and everybody else.... but on the other hand, this person could get angry with you and if one day he gets promoted and becomes your boss, his BO will be of your least problems..

Where i worked, a bar of soap had a hole bored through it. Then the offending persons name was carved into it and a ribbon attached for neck wear. This 'hint' was then pinned onto the works notice board to encourage the odd bath out of him ;)

Yes but I wouldn't be straight foward. Like buy them a gift basket with some good smelling lotion/soaps. I had a friend with a "muffin top" and gave her only the top of a muffin everyday. she got the hint.

That is a tough one. I worked with a guy that stank all the time. Good looking and clean but he just had this "Hum" about him... I felt sorry for him and could say nothing because I'm sure he already knew...

Yes. I think it would be kinder for someone to take them aside for a gentle chat rather than have the whole office talking about them

A suttle hint might be better, most people that suffer from BO, don't know they stink....
