To be connected to connect with people, nature and the source of all being. Having experienced those rare moments of absolute harmony (peak experiences) helps me to look forward to the next such moment. Like connecting the dots. The next unpredictable magical moment makes life worth living.

Examples of these moments: The birth of my daughters; the feeling of helping a friend; the happiness of performing a random act of kindness for someone in need; sitting by a river in Vermont once when hearing the rapids rush over the rocks, the birds sing, the sunrays danced through the overcast playing on the treetops and the world for that minute was absolutely perfect and beautiful and everything seemed to glow from within; hearing the Grateful Dead sing out "sunshine daydream" during their encore at an outdoor concert in the summer of 1989 when suddenly the heavens opened up in a rainshower; and the time I found some unknown person's lost pet bird standing on a stone wall staring at me on Mother's Day two years after my mother passed away.

Lastly, I live to love unpossessively.

The thing is that I may well lie down and give up but after a while, I still have to stand up, go to the loo and get something to eat.

My family. I love my boys so much there is absolutely no way I would do to them what their father did and that is just lie down and give up. I witnessed what his life's death did to them and I could never do that to them. Death hurts everyone. Especially suicide. People who commit such an atrocity are just plain selfish.

For a long time--I wondered this myself. Why should I keep going? I felt as if there was no purpose to life.

After having my first child--this completely changed. Now, I have a definite reason to keep going, to do my best, and to keep myself healthy and happy.

There is no romantic answer unless you are starving every day.

We live because chemicals in our body tell us to. Most of us live only to obey this chemicals and try to justify our own meaningless existence.

I will die eventually, no matter what. So I might as well try to enjoy this life while I have it.
