depends on the context, as usual

Do you mean: Are males and females equally capable of doing ANYTHING that they set their mind to?
If so, yes. The speaker of the house of representatives (US) is a female. A female has a really good chance of being the next president.

Or do you mean: Are males and females equal in the eyes of a male?
If that is your question, the answer is "Not very often, but they SHOULD be considered equals."

I believe that ability should be judged from person to person and not from male to female. I believe that everyone is better at somethings than others and then those people are better at different things than the first set of people. I believe that there are certain things that I would rather have a man do for me and then there are somethings I feel more comfortable with a woman doing. I also believe that we all have different wants and desires; this will make each individual choose a different path, so it does not really matter if we are equal as long as we are humbled enough to accept each other for the strengths and weaknesses that we all posses.

Dandouna, a male provider is not looked upon as a "hero." It is expected that men become breadwinners when they mature, just as it is expected that women take care of their children. Is it not sensible that YOU, as the child's mother, take care of her when she is ill? Do you possibly make more money than your husband? If so, then you could justify having him stay at home as a sheer matter of efficiency, but if not, you have no grounds for complaint. Feminists always speak of how important the mother is for a child (often lowering the usefulness of the father), so I figure they should stand up for their beliefs. Do you not want to stay home with your child and raise her properly, especially if she is indeed sick?

I would like you to explain how you lost your jobs, furthermore. Could you not have explained to your employer that your daughter was dangerously sick and take one day off? For some reason or another I have a hard time believing your story to the letter...

As an answer to the question, no, they are not equal in all aspects and should not be. Differences are what allow organisms to thrive, and this fact shall remain evident until the extinction of all live.

I think that in all honesty, we are - or at least, we should be.

Females have fought throughout the years to show this world that we are independant, strong and just as capable as males. We are free to make our own decisions and choices.

Some people prefer that males are dominant (some prefer that females are dominant, though) and others do not.

In my opinion, I think both women AND men should be given a shot and have an equal say.

They are equal in brain power only, and males dominate in some attributes, then follow in others. The abilities are too numerous to list to each in this frame of answer time.

Despite the huge change is society- no. But Im fighting it. Even though I am married and have a full time job- I am still expected to have food on the table, clean up after everyone and bend over backward for my husband. I asked my mother one day, "Mom if I were to work 10 extra hours a week and ask my husband to make dinner once in a while- I would be looked at as a horrible mother and wife but if my husband worked 10 extra hours and went to the bar on saturday nights then he is looked at as a hero (as he is looked at now) for providing for his family." I have lost three jobs because my daughter was seriously sick and my husband refused to take off of work. And then I was out of a job and takking care of sick child... I* again was looked at an inadequate mother. Sad but true. Hopefully it will change soon. I am tired of being overworked and unappreciated

Equal in worth but not in roles, at least inside marriage. The man was created to lead, the woman to follow. We're happiest in these roles.
