If you rode when you were younger, I assume you don't have your motorcycle endorsement anymore.

You didn't tell us how tall you were, so that makes for a lot of questions. I suggest you pick up a used Honda Rebel. They are lower to the ground, and run out nicely. Maintenance is usually normal, i.e., oil changes, tires, etc. A lady friend of mine used to ride with us, and kept up nicely on her Rebel 250.

Once you get your endorsement, and some time in the Rebel's saddle, you will probably want to trade up for some more power.

You will then have a better idea on what you want on the new bike, and will be able to make your deal after researching your options. I guarantee you will find like minded female riders who will be happy to recommend a bike once you start riding again.

When you are ready to trade up, visit the dealers, sit on the bike, see if your feet are flat on the ground with knees slightly bent when holding up the bike. Once you find the right fit, you will know. Also, think about how you will be riding. Short trips? Cruising? Long vacations? You will find, the longer you intend to be in the saddle any given day, the more you will want a larger bike.

Welcome back to our world! Ride Safe!

Why do so many want to buy such a small bike in the first please. Maintenance will come in time weather small cc or big cc. I'd like to recommend you take a good look at some 800 to 1300cc metric cruisers.

Everyone I know that bought a small bike 600 to 750 was not happy after a few months. The next season the lost some big bucks to get that new bigger bike..I tried to tell them.

i don't provide a rat's at the back of approximately video games, so of direction i might purchase the bike. For you, the respond may well be desperate by potential of the quantity and form of driving you do. If the bike extra or much less meets your needs, restoration it. If not, then get one that does. Tires and brake pads are issues that be replaced oftentimes and oftentimes. not an outstanding adequate reason to offload a superbly good bike.

I would check into a kawasaki 900 vulcan LT, i know it sounds big but handling-wise it feels more like a 650. ridden at sane speeds it gets about 50 mpg. the powerband is is at low rpm, so you don't have to downshift to pass, seat height is low so it's not intimidating a stoplights. it comes with saddlebags, backrest, adjustable height windshield. it has belt drive. suggested retail is about $8400. if you want some something smaller yamaha makes a similar 650, and suzuki 650 savage and buell (HD) blast are also excellant choices. there a also the step-thru (scooter) option, honda and suzuki both make 650's that are capable of highway speeds. of course the best (only way) way to tell is to go to dealer and look, price, sit on and possibly test ride.

I know a lady that bought her first bike when she was 50. Its a Kawasaki Vulcan 500. She's ridden cross country on it.

If you're thinking about 250cc, both Honda and Kawasaki make 250cc cruisers, the Rebel and the Vulcan.
