I always attributed this to the speed of my internet connection, which used to be dial-up. But now I'm on broadband. So that wasn't the reason at all.

The first 98% is the buffering, the last part is the actual transfer of the file.

I think it's because of the last stuff that you're saving. I know when I virus scan, some parts take a lot less time than others, such as deep scanning certain parts. It's probably similar to this.

The best way is just save the site to your favourites. You can then just pop back as and when.

A suggestion? Try firefox, much better then IE. and a lot less buggy too.
