Conserving energy is the patriotic thing to do! We need to cut the US consumption of energy and to increase our production of energy in order to take money away from the hostile oil-exporting countries that support international terrorism! The US needs to create an energy policy soon as one of the vital tactics to defeat the Islamic Fundamentalist Jihadists.

I am sure that reasonable Americans can agree on most of the proposed measures to reduce the US emissions of greenhouse gasses. You can visit the sites below for more information. Thank you.

Sign the Sierra Clubs online petition demanding that the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources chairman, Sen. Pete Domenici (R., NM) and House Committee on Energy and Commerce chairman, Rep. Joe Barton (R., Tex.) get to work now on a responsible energy plan for America. http://www.sierraclub.org/petition/energysolutions

The OPEC countries own over 70% of oil reserves but only do 40% of international oil trade. That means that when everyone else has run out of oil OPEC will still own enough to hold the world to ransom.

Now consider the fact that to be a member of OPEC you must share the cultural and political ideals of its founders. Thus, membership is restricted, so other exporting countries cannot influence from the inside. It follows that it is in any non-OPEC member's interests to conserve energy. I would go so far as to say it is each person's (and business') patriotic duty to do so.

We are way beyond that. That's why we don't bother with the Kyoto agreement even thought the whole world does, except Australia.
