I am almost certain that the right hand denotes receiving and the left hand is giving... I believe it to be that way because the left side was said to be the side of the devil... that's why we throw salt over left shoulder (angel sits above right shoulder and the devil is perched above the left ,thus getting salt in his eye) and children who were born left handed were trained to be right handed... just remember the saying about getting out on the right side of the bed

I always thought if your palm was itchy (either the right or the left) it meant that money was coming to you.

And if the back of your palm was itchy, it meant that money was going out.

But it could be that if your left palm is itchy, then you're likely to pay out, and if your right one is itchy, then you're gonna get paid. That might have something to do with the leftee superstition - you know, that left-handers are crooks, or sinister. So maybe that carried on to this particular superstition. Hmmm.

But if it itches for too long a period of time - seek a doctor's opinion - you may just have a rash.

left money coming in (receive with left) money going out (right) as most people work with right hand as spent energy. We were actually having this converstation tonight as my hands were both itchy and this is what the end of the converstation resulted in.

If the palm of your right hand itches, it betokens that you are going to receive money.
