hcl computer?

I have a hcl pc which often restarts itself in the middle of working. is there any troubleshooting that can be done?
its using windows xp, 512 mb ram, 80 gb hdd

You need to determine if this is hardware or software related...

For hardware, make sure the unit is in a clean, well-ventilated environment, all cooling fans are operational and providing adequate defenses against over-heating.

About once every 6 months you need to "crack the case" and "give it a bath"... NO... NOT with "soap and water!"...
A can of compressed air and an anti-static cloth go a long way to keeping a machine running forever!
