Geography of Ancient Civilizations?

Question

Geography is one of the determining factors in how a civilization or culture develops. Explain using point form how the geography affected teh culture, economy and politics of Mesopotamia (Sumericans, Babylonians), Egypt, Greece and Rome.

I'll just say a couple things:

The relatively flat land of Mestopotamia (the land between the rivers) was easy to cultivate and hence led to it's early use as farmland. Most historians agree that the "cradle of civilization" is so because it is where men first turned to farming.

The annual flooding of the Nile gave Egypt incredibly rich soil that sustained a 3000 year civiliation - it also became richly embroidered into their culture and religion.

Greece in ancient times was covered in oak forests. That most of those forests now lie at the bottom of the Aegean as shipwrecks is part of what lead to Greece's decline. They sacrificed their own ecology.

Roman were known for their single-minded approach to overcoming geography. Roman roads are *straight*, and if a mountain had to be removed to make it straight, so be it.

I have not got any thought.. yet of the classic worldwide alongside with china they have been between the 1st civilizations to have everyday Gods and Godesses. greeks romans and persians in simple terms imitated those attributes by way of oral traditions. egypt of the classic previous replaced into prevalent as Oum El Donia. Mothr of the worldwide. many different historical empires could save or recieve their vegetation and products from egypt, including surrounding empires. the roman the greek and the perisan empires could recieve commerce and save many of their vegetation there. to on the present time egypt is prevalent as oum el donya fairly becuase that's the place civilizations started out ... even after mesapotamia.
