I think I may have heard somewhere that they are baby snakes but I'm not sure, I can't seem to find any info on this term anywhere referring to snakes!! I know that they are also swellings at the base of leaves but I'm positive they have another meaning - please help!! this is doing my head in!

Have not got the faintest idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
The only two I know are---pulvillus and pulvinate there is also pulvinus but they all have a similar meaning.
