If it really is important then do a web search for data recovery and give it to a professional. Otherwise search for data recovery software. If the shop can't do anything then it's not likely that you can. Don't do anything that will write on the hard drive (in other words don't try a reinstall). That will only make it more difficult to recover data.

Thatpersistent sound love it particularly is ineffective with a capital DED. the only ingredient you're able to do is to go lower back to the day earlier at present's backups and say see you later to something you wrote that day. in case you do not lower back up on a daily basis, visit final weeks backup. in case you do not backup till there's a concern, you're lacking the ingredient approximately backups. Backups are PREVENTIVE measures. you're making them so as that once you have hardship interior the destiny, all you are able to desire to do is pop in a brand newpersistent and deploy your backups, and you're arranged to go. I even picked up a sparepersistent that could extra healthy my style workstation from EBay for $10. If something happens: 10 minutes to put in thepersistent and four minutes to restoration from disks and that i'd be up and working. in case you attempt to backup a disk that has already long gone south for the iciness, it in all probability took your information with it. Sorry. you are able to attempt an information restoration provider that for the duration of actuality tries to do a momentary rebuild on your HD which will final long adequate to get off your information. the extra perfect they're, the extra advantageous the prospect of a restoration, however the better their bill. Worst case state of affairs, you spend $2,000 to get informed "sorry, no recoverable records have been discovered. In genuine components the three maximum needed issues are region, region and site. With desktops it particularly is backup, backup and backup.

Boot to your OS CD and go to the recovery console. Run chkdsk /f and see if that fixes it. If it finds a bunch of errors replace the HD. If that doesn't help try a repair install.
