Addicted to technology?

Question

The BBC website has an article on people becoming addicted to technology so my questions are...

How many people out there are addicted to Answers?

and

What other technology are you addicted to?

I'm not addicted to Answers, but I'm on a lot.

I'm addicted to my computer, 3 cell phone, 2 iPods,
(one video, one nano) My PSP, Nitendo DS, Sidekick , and my dads blackberry. Oh and I'll be addicted to the iPhone I get when it comes out. I love the tv.

I think if you live in this world your addicted to technology unless you 83 years old or amish.

I suffer withdrawal symptoms when I don't use the Internet for about 3 days. But then the need to use it falls away. I wouldn't say I am addicted to it - it's there so I use it. When I'm bored and there's nothing on TV the Internet is to me like nectar is to a bee. It's a source of entertainment.

A few years ago I went a year without TV. Albeit I did have access to the Internet but that's not the point. My point is that I only use technology because it is available.

I stopped in a bothy alone on one cold winter night last year. It was in the middle of nowhere and it was snowing. Having hiked there during the day with a heavy rucksack I was exhausted, cold and sweaty. The only technology I had was one small keyring torch. That night I was so cold I didn't think I'd live until the morning. But something else happened. I spent a night in the wilderness without any technology. And you know what - it was amazing!

That isn't to say that I won't use technology if it's available though.

I am not all that addicted to Answers in that I do all the other things in life I did before.

As far a tech in general, I am quite taken with BBC DAB and the listen again internet service for certain channels.

I also like my mobile phone and other conveniences such as that rockin rollin sterio in my car. But to be a tech addict, that I do not think I am.

Everyone is addicted to technology these days, it is used in every part of our lives and we can't live without it.

Perhaps the Amish are those only who are free from most major forms of technology.
