I'm a young looking 38 year old american man currently working in a Middle Eastern country. I am a very faithful husband who love and respect his (filipina) wife dearly. When I see other filipina women in the country where I work, I try to show friendliness and treat them like family as an older brother figure. But, (smile) since they don't know me, they look at me as if i am just other playboy american guy with bad intentions.
How do I show my sincere friendliness and brotherly spirit to the filipina woman?
I am very contented with the woman that I have. I honestly don't need to play with other women. I just want to display that I am not the typical animal running around looking for a victim.
I am a God fearing man who trully have sympathy for SOME of the filipina women in my location.
I want to warn and encourage some of the young filipina about there environment If they don't already know.
It's sad sometimes because the Philippine Embassy is not a good resource.

You pose a good question, and I respect and admire your need to change the image of the typical American male who prowls the 3rd World for hapless female victims.
Keep this in mind: FIlipinas are very defensive because she has much more to lose in a relationship with a crazy kano. She could get pregnant or be infected with an STD. The kano can always just run away anytime he wants after losing a few dollars during "courtship".
However, I think you are barking up the wrong tree in your pursuit of imparting wisdom. Decent Filipinas act the way they do around you and other foreigners precisely because of the actions of quite a few Americans/foreigners who are not as well meaning as you. So the problem is really with the conduct of your brethren, correct? You should then really refocus your goodwill educational efforts towards the members of *your* demographic who immorally and downright, nastily, behave themsleves in the presence of rightfully defensive Filipinas. If you convert enough of them ugly Americans, then maybe and slowly you will gain the *genuine* trust of other Filipinas.

I think you are a predator. A wolf trying to look like a sheep. Every person makes up their own mind who to be friendly with. No one here will help you to decieve a filipina into trusting you like a "big brother" (yeah, right) And I resent your notion that all other americans than you have ill intentions and are in some way repulsive. I think you are the one who possess the characteristics you pretend to want to protect the world from. And that little recitation does not fool me.

Whereabout in the Middle East are you working, where you see these Filipinas. Isn't it prohibited for men to talk or comingle with women (not just Filipinas) in the country where you work?
I only know very few middle eastern countries where men can freely talk with women not their wives.

You can try being friendly in your own way. Because you don't need some advice for being friendly 0r good. It's all in the heart if you want to be friendly or not. Just believe in your self. Try being yourself next time. Come on you can do it. Try it and just ask for more advice. Ask it in the internet. Hope this answers all your questions! Bye!

the philippine embassy was never a good source..
btw, what you can do is greet them in tagalog.i mean use the filipino language to say hi to them instead of staring at them.stares could mean many things for filipinos. we rarely smile at strangers which makes us look snobbish.
try to talk to them about your experiences in the philippines and tell them also about your wife, i think that way you could set your intentions clear.
and i don't agree with one of the answerers who said that those filipinas working there haven't even finished school that's why they act that way.not true. though some haven't gone to school that doesn't mean that they're not learned. there's a big difference between educated and learned.

Let's put it this way darling----
you can't please everybody. and you cannot blame some of the filipina women for acting & thinking such way like that to some of the foreigners. Unless you are running for the election & want to gain more votes. Just continue to be pleasant, polite & wear a smile.
One day they will just discover your kind heart for filipinas. Good luck. (-- ,)

Have to agree with SPANKY on this one. Who made you a GOD to change the world ? Or is it your eagerness to be accepted. Plastic thats what it used to be called, have a neighbor just like you he's black also. Perhaps its due to the fact that you are not 100% accepted in society that you are trying to hide your own prejudices by befriending helpless FILIPINOS you are a phony. Just mind your own dam business I'm sure if they are big enough to get a job half way around the world they don't really need any of your assistance.

there s no use focusing on the false assumption of filipinos in our country because it will worsen the matter.
better yet, live alone with you wife, enjoy the company, be choosy with whpm you go with so that you will have balance disposition. some filipinos are educated too who couyld understand you.
