No, no.

If uterine contractions to expulse the endometrium and menstrual fluid are painful (they should not be at all) use hot presses made of hot (not boiling) water and a cloth over the lower abdomen.

Do exercise all over the month, particularly they need to strenghten your abdominal wall and pelvic floor, maybe a gyn knows how to do them.

If this is not enough, take painkillers during your period.

tat could be a reason. when i was a teenager, i felt so pain(the cramp) tat i couldn't go to school. i was just lying on the bed and moan. :-(
if u r not a teenager, there is a risk of fibroid. it usually come with a heavy flow of period each time.
i did tried to drink some hot drink(choc/milk) when i felt the cramp, it helped a little bit.
better go to see a gynae for check-up
good luck.

actually a change in the intensity of menstrual cramps can signal a problem such as uterine fibroids and other problems you should see your OBGYN and get checked just in case dont wait around to see if it resolves itself please.

Never read that, but it would make sense -- sex can definitely reduce the cramps.
