Its not going to be a solar eclipse is it!
A lunar eclipse occurs whenever the Moon passes through some portion of the Earth's shadow. This can occur only when the Moon is full, and when the Sun, Earth and Moon are exactly on a line, or very closely so. The type and length of a lunar eclipse depends upon the Moon's location relative to its orbital nodes. The next total lunar eclipse will take place on 3 March 2007 and will be at least partly visible over the eastern Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and western Australia. This eclipse begins at 2018 GMT, with the Moon totally immersed in the shadow of the Earth between 2244 and 2358 GMT, and said to be the 'best in years'
It is the first of two total lunar eclipse in 2007 - with the second one taking place on August 28, observed during the late hours (penumbral eclipse begins at 20:18:11 Universial Time; totality begins at 22:44:13 UT; time of greatest eclipse is 23:20:56 UT; totality ends at 23:57:37 UT; penumbral eclipse ends at 02:23:44 UT on March 4), will be unique in that it will be partly visible from every continent around the world.
However if you are missing the moon, then the 29th annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade is held in Australia - and I am sure it will provide a lot of moons to make up for the one missing in the sky..

In the UK, the total eclipse of the moon begins at 8:18pm
The Moon will be totally immersed in the shadow of the Earth between 10:44pm and 11:58pm.
Should be very good. Definately worth letting the kids stay up to watch it. :)

Yes and yes (if the sky is nice and clear). My "Starry Night" software tells me it's visible from here in the South of England and will start at around 09:30 tonight with totality at just after 20 past 11.
