Sometimes i am reading and all of a sudden i see a word and it doesnt look right.it looks as if its mispelt or else i see how it is spelt and it strikes me as odd although i know its spelt like that.its hard to explain but it happens quiet a lot when i am reading.even short words like "and" strike me sometimes.anyone else find this.it happens more often when i see words repeatitvely but it can happen when i see a word once either.happens quiet a bit with me.even walking by company vans or billboards and seeing how the spellings are can trigger it off.is that just weird or is their a reason why this happens???thanks everyone

I read a lot and it happens to me quite frequently. I'll look at the word and it just doesn't look right to me. You aren't weird, I think it happens to everybody sometimes.

It's called being tired I think. Or perhaps more generously you could say you are a lateral thinker. It's the same as repeating a word over and over out loud. Eventually it sounds like gibberish. It's just perception. And fatigue changes perception. Words are arbitrary in the scheme of things after all. An alien would think they looked funny too - which ever way they were spelled.

Why it happens???

I'm not really sure of that. It could be looking to much into it, like 123 or whatever the movie is.
Maybe just seeing and focusing on And does something like Sand Gland Banned And, makes it odd because they are spelt differently but sound the same.

I dont know why that is either, but i get that too, though alot with words I write and try to spell.

that happens to me too. it's really annoying because then i ask my friend if it's REALLY spelt like this and they get pretty annoyed. i think the words 'piece' and 'acquire' are weird.

yea i get that too, sometimes i think i have a little tiny bit of dyslexia. your prolly just unfocused, over worked, or tired though.
