Cold weather, low tire pressure, dirty filters, driving habits or taking short trips not letting the engine get up to temp. There's always the chance of a mechanical problem like O2 sensors, misfiring plug, or maybe a parking brake dragging. Many things can cause the fuel economy to drop.

There has been no recent increase in fuel consumption, just an increase in profits for the owners and shareholders.
I like how we are told oil is so costly and increased in price but the industries continue to set record profits. the rich get richer and poor get poorer.

first would be a leak in the frame rail lines from the tank to the carb, second is a brake that is hanging up while driving(including driver keeping part of his foot on the pedal). third the engine needs servicing badly, check out the computer codes for leaky plug wires and fouled plugs, fourth would be mis alligned or damaged suspension or tires not running straight and true.
