272 steps.

unfortunately YES ! its a good form of exercise as one has to climb 272 steps to reach the top ! i can't remember how long ago, there was this cable car type of thing that visitors could go up there without steps climbing[ may be you still see the abandoned structure while going up the steps, its on your left ] n i don't know the reason why it was not in service any more !

by the way, be careful while going up those stairs as there are many monkeys around looking for food, it may surprise or scare you. Bring along some drinking water too as the price of it on top there could be double from downstairs. Get ready a torch light in case you wanted to further explore the cave but the smell of 'batman's dropping could drive you off !

Have a nice day in Batu Caves !

not really. u can jump from a plane.
or alternatively u can pay 4 guys to carry u up the stairs.

but the best way is...... go up to petronas twin towers and take a parachute down to batu caves.
