Sell their vote? Locked into dead end jobs? This all sounds like socialist rhetoric. It doesn't mean you're a socialist, but at least that somewhere along the way you decided to borrow from them.

I used to be extremely poor. When I was a kid, I lived on a back porch, owned nothing and lived off of expired food that stores threw away.

Now I'm successful and financially secure. What happened? Hard work.

People that are in poverty are in poverty because getting out of poverty isn't their priority. It's that simple.

As for picking a party for economic benefit, I'd have to say most likely republican. They, as a party, tend to vote for liberal economic policies (meaning more economic freedom and thus more money for the economy as a whole.) Democrats tend to vote more towards the direction of restriction in pursuit of other priorities like environmental trends and so on.

Governments are never for the people. They are for themselves.
The term "public servant" is both an oxymoron & the greatest scam ever pulled on the populace.

Republican
Democrat
Neither matters.

And don't look toward Libertarians or Green Party or whatever little organization you see as a "3rd party" savior.
Who says they will turn out any different once THEY'RE in power?

Societies like these DEPEND on the oppression & suppression of the working class.
If you're poor, you're nothing to these folks.
Check New Orleans, Louisiana if you have any doubts.

The only thing that matters is money if you want to improve your lot in this society.
When you have the money you can make the rules.
I think they call that the Second Golden Rule.

Actually not simply money. Numbers.
If you have enough people united against another as a show of force things will change because more always beats less.
I call this The Red Rule.

However since ruling classes purposely divide the other classes against each other through various mind games including racism, classism, status, profession, etc. this is always a long shot.
So stay with the NUMBERS of the money type for most expedient change.

Look at voting as a penny in a wishing well. Just something to do. Nothing will really change no matter who's in there. And most if not all politicians are fake anyway.

Change comes from $change$ if ya smell what I'm cookin'.

Since there are more poor or poorer people in America they should demand a socialist party not a communist party like the one that used to be the old Nazi party a true democratic socialist party,
Surly all people in loser dead end jobs as you call it should make at least as much as the president of course unless they are republicans. But the next time you evaluate you job if you have one you will find out you have a loser dead end job, like the rest of us. Stop going to all the places you think people are working at a loser dead end job. Then if these people get public assistance you will just call them scum.

Democrats policies set up conditions to give scraps to people who are struggling but ot to give them any means to improve their situation.

Conservative policies set up conditions that allow those who are willing to work and earn success do exactly that.

A vote for democrats is a vote to keep the poor poor and to give more control over their lives to the government.

A vote for conservatives is a vote to allow people to do and achieve for themselves, but also to allow people to suffer the consequences of their own choices if they make bad ones.

Neither party. Democrats claim to be for the poor, but are the democrats ever going to help the poor get out of their slump?Absolutely not. Their socialist policies never make anything better... it just keeps the poor ..poor and dependent on the government.

Democrats advocate change and advocate supporting minority rights.

Repugnantcans want to keep the status quo, and are resilient to change, because they are wealthy and happy with the way things are.

If you are poor, are you happy with the way things are?

Vote Democrat in 2008!

Democrats want people to stay poor as poor people vote Democrat. Working people become Republican as they mature. Poverty is the result of NOT working and not learning. When the Soviets started learning it was the Demise of Communism which like Democrats needs stupid and poor to stay stupid and poor.
