When I was a kid their was this old guy who was always yelling at us. I talked to one of his grandkids and she said that he was just worried because of all the chemicals he put on it. I felt really guilty for judging him.

When I was young, my neighbor LOVED his lawn. He watered it daily and fertilized it regularly. It was a beautiful lawn. NO ONE was allowed on his lawn. I saw him chase kids off his lawn, and my friends and I were scared crapless when our baseball would occasionally find its way onto his property. We would stare at his house for a minute or two, discuss the situation between ourselves and then the bravest among us would make the mad dash to retrieve the ball. Occasionally, he would see us and come out to yell at us to keep our damn ball in our own yards. Looking back on it, I realize that this guy provided us with a lot of extra fun and excitement. Perhaps it was unintended, but I decided long ago that when I get old, I'm definitely going to provide my neighborhood kids with that same kind of fun and excitement by running outside and angrily yelling at them to stay off my lawn at any opportunity. Afterwards, I'll head back inside grab a nice freshly baked cookie and smile to myself as I remember how much fun that really is for a kid.

It is fairly hard work to have a decent lawn. Fortunately here in South Africa we have HUGE fences trying to keep criminals out, so kids walking over a lawn generally would have to scale a fence with security spikes etc.
At least ONe benefit of living in a high crime area!

I am an old person. Stay off my lawn. You don't own it. You don't take care of it. You damage it and don't do anything to fix it. Walk on concrete or asphalt walks. That is what they are there for.
Show respect for the property of others.
If you are lucky, you will be old and own a lawn of your own, one day.

Why don't you stay on your own lawn? How would you like it if these same "old people" came into your house, opened your refrigerator and ate your food. Or told you to move over while you were watching TV and tuned into the channel they wanted to watch..
We have to learn to respect each other and their property.
I hope for your sake you are a very young un or are just jesting.
America has become great because we learn to respect each other's properties, or else we wouldn't bother to acquire anything, since they wouldn't belong to us anymore, but to anybody who desired them, without working slavishly for them.

Not, but they worked hard to make it neat and green and what to look at it and admire. They do not have that much joy in life. Stop spoiling their lawn.
