Ok, 3 weeks ago I went to my father in laws house. His wife git upset and tried to come after me for no reason. Then, I got in my car to avoid her. My father in law called almost 2 weeks ago banning me from his house. I told my husband I didn't want him going to his house without me, so he called his dad back and they got into it. Now his dad will not speak to us. What would you do?

What is really sad is that my husbands mother has been dead for almost 12 years and he never had a relationship with his dad until she died and now it's all messed up. I need advice.

Well, for one thing, it's his step mom. And for two, she always does this. She acts like a 62 year old child. And I think my husband going up there is a bad idea because of the history of them breaking up relationships and starting trouble talking behind one's back.

She had 4 kids that won't even speak to her because of her attitude.

I was banned from the house because his dad said I was acting like a child by getting into my car. I know what it's like not to talk to your family, but in this situation I think it is the best thing. You apparently aren't old enough to have actually experienced anything like this. So if you are going to say what I did isn't right, then move along and don't bother.

u and your hubby need to stay away from this toxic woman, she very well could break up your marriage, if she tried to come after u than, u need to think about your safety, and emotional well being. your husband does need to stick up for u, and just not go anywhere his wife isn't welcome too.

First things first---You are obviously not giving up all the info. What would make this woman come at you? Or is she just plain cuckoo? Why are you being banned from the house?
Second, your husband's dad was his dad before you two became husband & wife. You do not have the right to make such a demand. You should always look at it like this: If he or his father died tonight, there would be a ton of guilt & unresolved issues, because they weren't speaking. How would you feel if that happened? Somebody (most likely you) will need to extend the olive branch & the little white flag. Take one for the team & suggest counseling, because this is a hot mess.
Good luck with your situation.

I wouldn't tell my husband not to see his parents. That's awful! I would try and figure out why his mom got so upset instead of pretending it was for no reason. People don't get upset like that for no reason. There is always a reason, no matter how irrational it may be! Then I'd probably apologize even if I didn't believe I did anything wrong. Sometimes it's best just to let crazy people have their bubble.

They sound like a dysfunctional mess. And I would just stay away from them. They have obviously been this way for a long time and will continue to do so. I would not tell my husband he could not visit or go to his fathers house, he is a grown man, allow him to make his own choices. I would have called the police and had her arrested for domestic violence, give her time to cool her self down and time to think about her behavior. Good luck and God bless****

There are a lot of bad feelings going on in the family. Sometimes it's just best to stay away and this sounds like one of those times.

So, your husbands father got married again. Looks to me like your new "mother-in-law" just might be a wee bit jeolous of you. Are there any kids involved (on her side)?

Tell the FIL you have no problem staying away from him and his woman's crazy asses and as for your husband, tell him to visit them all he wants, just don't come home with any bullshit ideas from these wacko people.

Maintain a formal relationship. Do not express opinion about her affairs and do not encourage her to talk about urs.
