Wow! Could be quick!!!

The sex of the baby doesn't make a difference though.

It tends to get quicker every time so I would imagine it would be a very quick labour and you might want to discuss this with your doctor or midwife - they might want to induce you to make sure you're in hospital and you don't give birth on the bathroom floor!

My first child was born in November and with him I went from 1.5cm dilated to 10 cm in about 5 hours. So not sure how quick it would be for me if and when I have another child, but I hope it would be fast. I coped with my labour without any drugs or pain medication (other than a few half hearted puffs of gas and air) because it wasn't that long.

I had always heard that the time in labor would decrease with each baby, for me it didn't. My first two were both just over 6 hours and my 3rd lasted just over 12 hours. Each baby is different. I did have a lot less pain with my 3rd and didn't have an epidural like I had with my other 2 so although it lasted longer it was an easier labor.

Impossible to say. Generally speaking each birth time should decrease with each pregnancy, but I know from experience that's NOT true.
At least it looks like you'll go in reasonable time.
I went 16hrs first, then 33 hrs of which 29hrs were 1 min apart, then 32 hours then 1 hour at hyperdilation with induction. I'm great with pregnancies, terrible at birthing!!
Good luck, and congratulations!

I don't think that you can predict how long any labour will last. The difference between your two previous labour's demonstrates that.

Good luck with the birth - I think that you are very brave having the baby at home!

everyone and every birth is different.. i had a normal birth (14 hours long) on my 1st,emergency section on my 2nd after 9 hours labour(baby distressed) and emergency section(prem baby) on my 3rd due to placenta previa. im just waiting to see what my 4th brings (due in july)..
i have nothing against home births but me personally and with my experience i would rather be in hospital incase of any complications... good luck and i hope everything goes to plan x

10 minutes labour??? Get the hot water and towels ready now! Every labour is different, and you won't know until you're delivered! Good luck!

Wow! You sound just like my boss!! Her third was a bit longer than second but shorter than her first.

I don't think there's in any way to really tell. Each little person comes into this world in the way they want and in their own time.

Good luck!!
