I have a poor undergrad GPA(2.01) and I am trying to get into grad school for couseling psychology. I have been turned down at my top choice and I am looking for tips on how to improve my application other than work experience, which I have an abundance of. My GRE scores are high, but I can't seem to get into an interview to prove myself. Does anyone have any hints?

If you are fresh out of college, you may want to consider taking a year or two away from school, then go back to an undergraduate college to take additional coursework, possibly a second bachelors. Do your damnedest to get straight As in your courses this time. The admissions counselors might then discount your earlier record, and see that after 'maturing' a bit you are now capable of performing at a level more appropriate for a graduate school applicant.

Good luck to you!

You really cannot hide from your GPA. Some schools like at your GPA first and use that as their weeding out tool. I think you need to graduate coordinator directly. I would work on a well written email that details your feelings about your qualifications and how you would be a good match for the program, what you would do with the degree, etc.

Oh, and don't just apply to one school. Apply to 10 (three long shots, three in the middle, and four lower end schools with grad programs). Good luck.

after I utilized to graduate colleges many years in the past, each and each college had their own kinds. My professors who wrote letters only wrote one letter and connected copies of it to the varieties for each college -- so it truly is only no longer that a lot more suitable artwork for them.
