One of those trick questions, My friend and i were wondering what you thought. I think there is no right answer and she thinks it is a egg. But how did the egg get there in the first place??

Chicken.
Why? Well, something else had to "evolve" into a chicken for it to have laid the egg.
But that "evolved chicken" might have come out of an egg, in which case, it isn't a chicken egg because it came out of something else. :-)

The chicken and there also needed to be a rooster
before the egg could come to be.

Well scientificly the Egg came first because.dinosaurs were laying eggs millions of years before chickens where even evolved. so Chronologically the egg came first.

If you believe in theory of evolution the egg came first - a genetic mutation of the animal that the chicken evolved from.

well i thought it was the chicken. but then me and my friend were discussing it and we were like but if the chicken is a decendent of the dinasour wouldn't it be the egg? but we believe in God and we're not quite sure if that would be evolution or not. lol. but i spose i'll go with my original answer, the chicken.

If you look at it from the point of view that God placed all the animals on earth. Then the chicken came first.
