Racism is everywhere, in the US and Australia too. I guess you can put up with racist slurs but are concerned about your safety. I've seen report about anti-non-white violence in Russia and Germany. Of course it could happen anywhere anytime; you just have to be careful. I haven't heard of violent acts against Asians in Italy and Spain or France. The fact that you were born in Australia and speak excellent English with an Australian accent doesn't make them think twice. If they see you yellow, you're fair game. Just stay in crowded areas and watch your back.

no remember the place we shuttle, there are hazards, so do no longer bypass wandering off and getting lost. some neighborhoods, in any u . s . a ., are risky. Will you be determining to purchase a Eurail bypass? Going on my own or with a team? notice that thoughout Europe, maximum agencies and eating places close down from approximately midday for some hours. Europeans take a protracted restful lunch. So do no longer plan on ingesting lunch at a million:30 p.m. you will get fairly hungry!

In Germany it depends on where you go, there are some places especially in the former GDR where there are a lot of racists and neo-Nazis, and in some of the small villages people might be prejudiced, but otherwise there aren't any problems. I live in a town named Göttingen where a lot of people from all over the world are living and I have never heard of any racism here, and I know many people here who look different, including East Asians. There are many Japanese tourists coming to Germany, especially in Heidelberg you see so many of them, and there are many Chinese students here, and at school one of my friends was Chinese and she has never experienced any racism in Germany. There was also a girl of Vietnamese descent I used to tutor after school and she used to tell me about her experiences at school, and racism was not among it.

The difference between places is something I have experienced with an Egyptian friend who wears headscarf, we once went to a smaller town in the former GDR where people really stared at her, but elsewhere (Göttingen, Hanover, Braunschweig, Berlin) no one ever payed attention at all.

Nothing, Asians are mainly respected in Europe since most of them behave within the union.

Asians are too paranoid and suspicious about caucasions. Except right after WW2 all Asians particularly Chinese are very much admired and the Japanese, too. The war is over. Now we just worry Chinese gonna try and conquor the world with dvds and satillites. and hdtv's. economics. We not like north korea very much.

Racist people are cowards who hide behind a veil of hatred to cope with their own insecurities and failures. Their hatred allows them to distract themselves from the reality of their existence:that they are capable of being just as impoverished, ignorant, filthy, and immoral as any other human being could be.
