without tools nope ,unless its dead if this is the case gravity will take care of it.if alive take a hatchet go around the tree chopping about 2-3 inchs all around it.this is called gerdling[i think thats the way you spell it] but that will kill it.to do the job right use the hatchat and spray tordon in the cut now that will kill any tree..

Get really drunk. Get a big truck...bigger...even bigger...nope bigger...that's better. Go a couple miles down the road. Turn the truck around, make sure the front is facing the tree. Get the truck up to, oh let's say 100mph. Hit the oak tree with the truck...the tree will still be there, but you won't. Problem solved!

Unless you plan on Mother Nature to remove it, well, it can not happen. The other answers were trivial at best. A cheap solution might be to ask within your neighborhood or place an ad in a local paper for people looking for firewood/wood for free. Someone might be willing to do themselves a favor and you as well. Good Luck
