A weed? What is it? By definition it is anything growing in your yard that is not wanted. Certain grasses in your yard can be a weed. For example, in Zosia Grass Lawns onion grass and wild garlic are weeds. In Rye or Blue Grass Lawns Zosia is a weed.
Each State has a University which provides an Agricultural Extension Service. You can contact these great people any time of the year. They can provide you with soil testing, weed identification info, and physical examination of your situation. They have the most up-to-date info on both conditions and/any chemical you can use.
Do not take your "weed" sample to a store. You will be sold both chemicals and seed you probably do not need. Utilize the dollars you pay to your state each year. I make an average of nine visits each week thanks to our State Program

You could dab each weed with a little weed killer, but more easily, spray the whole lot with a weed and feed type chemical.
