If you drive into Wales you will see the Welsh dragon flying proudly in many Welsh villages. It would be nice to see the English flag on display in lots of English villages as well.

So, why aren't we allowed to be proud of our nation but the Welsh are allowed to be proud of theirs?

The people in the house at the end of my road have an england flag on a flag pole in there back garden. I think its ridiculous that we should worry about offending ethinic minorities by flying our flag. We're in England for ***** sake. Why shouldnt we have national pride?

Because some people think that immigrants and visitors will be offended by the sight of the St George flag.
In Birmingham, the council banned the flying of English flags from all taxis during the world cup for this very reason. Anywhere else in the world you go, people fly their flags with pride.
Bloody ridiculous, isn't it?

As others have said, it is the completely evil thought to get the long term and proud people of England to no longer be pround of the English heritage that has taken centuries to perfect.
Bastards on the PC brigade. They will destroy along with rampant immigration and all the crap with it the very society that has made such greatness possible, along with the benefit to all.
It is happening all round the Western world, especially in the UK and USA.

Someone in Shildon (I think), County Durham, put one up, but someone complained so it had to be taken down.
Then he noticed Wear Valley District Council flew the EU flag, he complianed, since (1) We're not in the EU and (2) They didn't get permission.
They took it down soon.

Your question:
My town has a Union Jack on the Town Hall, outside the Territorial Army, the police station and the fire station. Outside the Bishops House and someitmes the schools.
I like my town

i am not ofended by the flag after all it is just a piece of material,it is the person who is holding the flag that may offend me

the flag is still associated with the right wing groups and the white people who claim they are not racist have not done enough to remove the link

Get a grip!

I mean seriously, do you thjink p[eople aren't flying flags for fear of torch wielding minorities or politicians? It's because it wasn't common in our culture outside of public buildings. If you parents or grandparents didn't do it, that's why you don't. Does anyone even know how to get hold of a flagpole? If you want to do it, then go out, plant one in your garden and do it. And just dare anyone to object, we all know the tabloids will jump on it if you get trouble. So really what's to stop you?

Because the national front and B.N.P have abused the british flag that much that it is almost considered racist to fly the flag

I don't particularly think the ethnic minorities would be too bothered. It's the government that's gone ape over stuff like this since we joined the EU
