I downloaded the song "Taiyou no Uta" after seeing it chart on the Oricon charts, and loved it. However, I tried to see if it had its own Wikipedia page, and it directed me to a movie of the same title, with the character "Kaoru Amane" played by JPop singer YUI! What's going on?

Yes, there is a song also entitled "Taiyou no Uta," which is performed by Kaoru Amane. Not only did it chart on the Oricon charts, but the music video is all over YouTube. I just wanted to know if it was a legit song or another marketing ploy.

First of all, Taiyou no Uta isn't a song, it's a movie and second, Yui stars in the drama version of Taiyou no Uta. Kaoru Amane is in the Movie version. There are 2 versions but they basically have the same story lines.
Sorry, my mistake. It IS a song. It's legit.

No Yui doesnt really have xp, she is alive and well.
