Can't we divide the stone into 4 lots of 10kg?


If they have to be different you can use variations like

7kg, 13kg, 9kg and 11kg

or some such

5 & 15
3 & 17

You can divide it in any way.
Either 40/4=10
or
if you want variation
3+15+17+5
you can do it in about a thousand ways
