No, I don't think so, but many of them do not know any better.

People of Cuba have known no other leader.Where in the world would a leader chose his brother to succeed him?Cubans have known no dissent nor have they known to express themselves freely. To them Cuba is Castro and Castro is Cuba no matter what outside world views them. They will need a great democrat to free them from yoke of dictatorship. If you tie a chicken its legs for a long time it will not move even after it is untied. It will need somebody to give it a kick for it to realize it is really free.Who will kick Cubans?

The Cuban people don't have a choice of their leaders, which is evident, since he's been there since the 1950's. That's how things work under Communism. And when Castro dies, which I hope is soon, they will more than likely stick his brother in power and the Communist legacy will live on, unfortunately.

What country has the highest rate of literacy in the western hemisphere?
What country has the most qualified doctors per capita in the western hemisphere?
What country struck by hurricane Katrina had _zero_ deaths from the storm?
Compared to the clowns in the Whorehouse and how US "allies" have fared in the past 50 years (ALL of them third world countries with poor infrastructure and educational systems - Haiti, Grenada, the Philippines, etc.), Cuba _is_ better off under Castro.
You can also add to that the fact that Cuban now have _more_ individual rights than yanquis do thanks to the treasonous "patriot act" and the elimination of "habeus corpus".

Sick in whose mind. He is the only leader most Cubans have ever known. In a sense many of them would be lost in a transition in power let alone the change in the type of Government.
