is one of your computers hardwired to the router?
if so - take it to the Belkin website - and see if they provide support thru the internet
I did that thru Linksys, and the site walked me thru hooking back up when I unplugged accidentally, by using the PC

If you can achieve this without it costing you then tell us all how. Personally I think the wireless gig is a have as although they come with a guarantee that they will work there is no guarantee they will work 'for you'. The 'wireless' connection to my laptop being case in point. I.e. the only way it works is via a dirty big cable that runs from the office to downstairs or anywhere else in the house that I want to connect wirelessly from. Excellent. Not.
Apparently electrical cables or a neighbour's wireless connection may be creating interference. The provider points out that's not their fault and the router is 'working'. Our last resort is to PAY a computer geek. Good luck. we didn't have much.

-->if u dont know how to do that u can get the help from Belkin G Router.. technical support.u will configure ur router for the channel,security,and name of the wireless signal in your router.
---> now disconnect ur laptop from the router and make it wireless.
-->now click on the start button, go to Run tab
---> In run , type services. msc
---> now you will see a services local window coming up
---> scroll down and third from the bottom you will see a "wireless zero configuration".
---> Double click on that,
---> wireless zero configuration properties window will appear
in that make sure that Startup type is Automatic and service status is started, if not click on start button available on the same window.
--->Click Ok
ON the right hand bottom corner of the screen you will see a single or double computer icon which says wireless network connection when the cursor is placed over the icon.
----> Now right click on that, you will see View available wireless network, Click on that now a window will open . there you will see your wireless name (SSID) as configured in your router. Highlight the SSID and click on connect. Now you will succedd in connecting your laptop connecting wirelessly to the router.

as your desk top wil be wired to the router try logging in and see if you have a high security level and it won't acept a new host machine. As you have a new laptop it may be regected cos you have not registered the MAC adress (MAC adress filtering only) or you may not have a wep key that is the default (key 1) also check the settings for password and key in windows
