I love the junk food when parents are gone!!!
I can't get enough of it!!! lol
But you should probably eat...
1. Cup o' Noodles...
2. Easy Mac...
3. Check the freezer for any frozen burritos or meals...
4. Fruit and vegetables don't even need cooking!!! Just wash!
5. Scrambled eggs are probably the easiest to make when working with the stove...
6. Watch the Food Channel and learn some cooking step-by-step???
7. Wait till the parents come home and ask them next time to cook something before they leave ^_^

Okay you did not mention your age, but maybe you should think about learning how to cook. Your parents are not going to be around forever. Chips will not satisfy your appetite forever either. And if you do not want to learn how to cook I suggest you go buy some microwavable food (i.e Chunky Soup, Noodles, Chef Boyardee).

fruits, raw vegetables which is edible,or their juices,
you can take dairy products which is rich in calcium, vitamins and specially amino acids ie protein.
you can also take nuts and raisins and dry fruits which is rich in nutrients both, micro and macro(carbs, proteins)
you can also take whole grain bread and peanut butter,
chips ? what chips ? computer or potato ?
don't take both becoz both are not good for health my friend.
the above mentioned food are health food .
you can also take milkshakes or fruit salad or if you're non veg and have a microwave you can make simple meat dishes or eat tuna with a bread and vegetables on it .i mean sandwich.
don't go for taste .go for nutrients which give you better health ultimately resulting in logevity.

My parents were both really busy people, but mom always had some kind of dinner in the fridge or freezer, or at least some frozen pizzas for emergencies. There was always something to eat.

Keep it healthy. Ask your parents to buy healthy foods to keep on hand for times when you're on your own. Soup and salad make a good meal, with fresh fruit for dessert. Ramen noodles are easy to make . . . and peel a banana. ;) Shop for a cookbook that you think you might like. You might really like cooking.

Learn how to cook, girl. Or when you move out, and keep eating chips you'll be 500 lbs from all that junk!

Why don't you try finding a cookbook that looks appealing (and easy) to you from the library and try things out when they have time to help you if you need it.
That way, maybe you could even surprise them by cooking dinner one night! It doesn't have to be fancy, but it'll make you feel so proud!
