I don't have much of a work ethic. It's not that I'm lazy, exactly, it's just that I would rather spend my time reading, exercising, watching tv, surfing the internet, etc. What happened to welfare?
I tried it once, but unless you have kids or are disabled, I don't think you can get a cash benefit. It is possible to get food stamps, but that's about it. Maybe I could fake a disability. What's the easiest mental disorder to fake? Maybe I wouldn't even need to fake it. Maybe I am too crazy to work!

Perhaps male prostitute. That does require some physical activity though. And if you've been sitting around on your duff long enough, women (or men, whatever your preference) might not find you too appealing. And since showering and such might not be up your alley, that goes double for the unappealing.

Maybe you could get a noshow job through the mafia, or a local ward leader.

Here's an idea, though it will require some work. Get a job guarding a shipment of pallets of cash going to Iraq. On the way, you can pocket some of it. No one will notice, or if they do, they won't investigate. Then you can invest it in Halliburton stock, and make a fortune when we blow up another country, and then rebuild it.

Just a thought.

Poverty and starvation. Sorry, those are the best I can think of. I don't recommend faking a disability because if you are ever found out, it is fraud and you will get free housing, three hots and a cot and more loving than you can handle from 300 lb guys named Bubba. the only problem with this housing is that the furthest you can go is probably 1,000 feet into the yard and back. In your case, this arrangement will probably be temporary (8-10 years) . After that, they will kick you out to fend for yourself and you might find that a lot of employers will not want a person who has been in this 8-10 year living arrangement.

Beach bum. If you do "it" right, you could make a living at a national seashore, and have what you want.

Crazy?

Astronomically indolent would be a better description.
