The worst teacher I ever had was when I was in about Grade 3. She was a relieving teacher and had no control at all. All the kids in the class had her in tears everytime she taught and she would try to march the worst kids to the Principals office, and I do say try. Her name was Ms Yates and all of us kids would yell Yakes it's Yates everytime she walked into the class. She was finally relieved of teaching us and I would not be surprised if she gave up teaching. I believe she was reprimanded for hitting one of the kids, but he really did deserve it and if I had received the treatment that was dished out to her I think I would have hit him too.

The worst teacher I had was blind as a bat. Literally. He taught social studies and just walked around and lectured. Since he couldn't see well, and he would assume the trouble maker in the class was me, when the person who was responsible sat NEXT to me!!! So that year was a disaster. And the best teacher I had, well he was my Literature and Composition teacher. He is a very poetic teacher, and I loved the lesson plans he had. He would always make the class laugh with his ridiculous jokes. At that time, we were learning about the Holocaust, and he taught it in an amazing way, we even had a simulation of a concentration camp. He played a Nazi, and all of us in the class were Jews. And he would pick random names who would live or not. It was so amazing. He even brought a fake "pop" gun, and "shot" us unfortunate people (You know, not real, but real enough) I was one of his best students, and he recommended me for Honors classes. So he was a really good teacher to me, plus he's one of my greatest friends. I remember my favorite teacher the most. Good question.

Worst teacher had her back on the class the whole semester, writing math equations that no one understood as she would lecture with a soft voice.
Best teacher encouraged the whole class to participate in the discussion. To throw questions and opinions at each other. She made the 3-hour class seem like it was 30 minutes.

As I answered in a different question,
My favorite teacher was Mrs. Lippestrue. She was both my 1st and 3rd grade teacher; you can imagine how well she knew what my next move was before I made it. When my father passed, when I was 9 years old and in her class, I remember that she attended the funeral. It meant a great deal that my teacher would be there for me at that moment in my life. Mrs. Lippestrue took a personal interest in who I was as a person, not just a body passing through her class. Now, as a teacher myself, I make it a point to get to know each of my students on a personal level, not just as a name on a roll sheet.
My worst teacher was my 5th grade teacher; I'll withhold the name as a courtesy. she made the mistake of judging me based on something I had no control over. As a friend of my aunt during college she knew my aunt to a bright, well motivated individual. In my case I was a bright, unmotivated young 5th grader. You can see where problems may have materialized. This however, does have a happy ending. I believe you can learn from people who you don't want to be like just as easy as you can from people you do want to be like. as a 6th and 7th grade teacher now myself, I make it a point to form judgements about my students because of who they are, not who they are related to.

I had many excellent teachers. You have to be thankful for the good ones and try hard to forget the bad ones. It's sad - but the bad ones are remembered too well when they should be quickly and completely forgotten.
I had only one bad experience with the "worst" teacher. His personality was as bad as his personal hygiene. He called male or female students (who asked questions) names like "honey baby" (sarcastically) among others. He would not answer questions - said to find the answer in the book. It was math - specifically Geometry. Mercifully he was only there one year - thanks to some parents who intervened. It was a long time ago.

My gym teacher in sixth grade was the worst, cranky as hell, and I'm pretty sure he was a pervert, since he used to sit in his office and stare as all us boys took our showers.
I remember the good ones much better, I was fortunate to have many of those through the years. It's a tie between a writing and lit professor I had in college and my chemistry teacher in 10th grade. Totally different personalities (Hippie and Nazi), but I learned a hell of a lot from both of them.

Well, the worst teacher I had was this crazy lady who took things to the extreme.
We were in her class for the first year, and it was in Grade 3. We all handed in our worksheets to her, and it was our first science worksheet in our first ever year of learning science.
So anyway, she returned the worksheet and wanted us to do corrections. This other girl and I did them wrongly and WAH LAH! She totally made us pick up our desks *after yelling at us like a insane person* and move to the side of the classroom (one of us on either side).
Bloody hell! All that over one dawgone correction?? I still hate her.
My best teacher ever, is one who is teaching me now. Social Studies. He is excellent. He talks at length about everything and actually makes us see the fun side of world diplomatics and everything- we're like so pleased because we learn more from him in one hour than we do after a whole week of math and science combined!!

In my senior year of high school, my English teacher took a
disliking to me - I don't know why because I was a nice guy -
so, one day she picked on me so badly I got up and walked
out of class, out of the school, out of town and hitchhiked on
the state highway to Albany, 30 miles away, then onto the state
highway, west to Rochester, then south to Oneonta where a
friend was going to college. When I got there I called my parents
to let them know I was okay, telling them that I'd return home
with my friend when he went home for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Oh my!! My Geogrphy teacher from 10th and 11th grade was the worst!! He was always preaching the word of God to us, while he was the biggest hipocryte ever, and he doesn't believe in going to church, he thinks he knows the Lord better than the pastor! He got divorced twice, married one of his students and checks out the girls at school. I almost cried from joy when I heard he wasn't teaching me in the 12th grade!!
