Yes, it does sound like the waer pump, maybe heater hose, or possibly a freeze plug. But either way, it is something you need to get fixed, because if your engine over heats, bad things will follow. Make sure that untill you can have it fixed, you check your coolant level, and if you are constantly adding coolant (Anti-Freeze) make sure to add the 50/50 mix of Water and Anti-Freeze.
And if you take it to a shop and they say it IS the water pump, yeah, may be about 200 or so, they may also tell you that you should replace the timing belt when this is done, they are not trying to rip you off, it is a good idea to replace it now because they shouldnt charge you the labor since it is on the way to the water pump. Good luck

Since you checked the hoses and the radiator, the next place to look is the water pump. Given the age of the car, I'll assume you are about due for one.
If the water is leaking toward the front of the engine, then the water pump or the leater bypass hose may be leaking. If the jluid is leaking more towards the middle of the car, then it could be the heater core.
Best to have it checked it out soon.

Depending on how much you know about cars......an easy thing to do is steam clean your engine. Once again only if you know what you doing....After you steam clean the engine. Go to the part house and pick some dye for you cooling system. Add it to your radiator, (remember to do it when the engine is cold). Run the vehicle long enough for the cooling fan to come on. Also run you heater, Hi-Lo, and if equipped your AC.. Than put a large piece of cardboard under you engine compartment. Large enough to cover the hoses back to the firewall. If like you say it only leaks when you start it. Let the engine cool at to below 180'. Then restart your engine for a moment. Turn it off and go get a black light. Flash it on the card board without moving car first see what you see. You should be-able to decide from there, to take it to a shop or you can handle it...

Have your system pressure checked. Any local garage can do this. It could be a hose at the motor side. Or the water pump.
Be sure to get this done soon or you will pay a lot more when the engine overheats due to lack of coolant in the system.

hi..........sounds like you've a 302HO?? that is a Saleen so i theory the "HO".. ok, there's a cork sliver form-of a gasket lower than the front area of the intake, ok?? you opt for to eliminate the intake, merely the air-cleanser must be removed from the accurate, the throttle linkage and the nice and cozy temperature sink i think that is on the different part.. except that merely take the accurate bolts out of the accurate of the intake, ok?? you do not opt for to make a huge production of this.. it takes about 40 5-minutes to regulate on of those, my 289 is an similar as yours.. you may want to eliminate the better radiator hose, placed it out of ways and plug it.. i take advantage of vise-grips shaped like a ducks invoice for a extra unified clamp to quit leakage, it does artwork better than draining each little thing or stuffing a rag in it.. which will be the different leak, that top radiator hose.. because this is up contained in the air like that it receives bumped and bounces round lower than the hood because the motorized vehicle is pushed, it extremely works this is way loose from this is clamp and would opt for to be tightened> do not tighten it too a lot, merely till the hose merely starts off to fill-up the clamp holes.. it is also lower than allot of rigidity from the gadget too, ought to reason it to leak finally too.. The "goose-neck" also receives rusty too and leaks, straight forward restoration... i respect mustangs, Galaxies.. I had a sixty 5' Galaxie with a 352BB, loved the motorized vehicle.. solid success!!!!!!

sounds like the water pump is failing, many water pumps have a weep hole that will let you know the pump seals are failing. you can still drive it like this but i would not recommend it, replace the water pump probably 200.00 dollars.parts and labor at a good shop.
