little, like my little sweetie, a dachshund - I love dogs! and cats.
Years ago we had a cocker spaniel, he lived inside when a puppy but he became an outside dog. He was loving and very protective of our family. He lived with us about 15 years.
One time we had two large dogs that were adopted, a husky mix and a lab mix, they were good guard dogs. All you had to do was hand feed them, and they became you're best friend.
We had several large dogs at a car lot for many years. Thieves would break into the fenced garage parking lot and break into cars - the dogs kept them out - until they started feeding them - one dog survived being kicked in the head - the next time there was a break in - we found one dog had a small caliber gun shot in his head. The last time there was something stolen from the lot, our dog turned up with a badly broken leg. It broke my son's heart when we couldn't save the dog. When thieves started hurting our dogs, we quit keeping them there.
I've had chihuahuas and poodles. They're so sweet and nervous.
Dogs have been good to us. I've always loved to have pets.

I guess if you're young, then a big dog, like a labrador is great, cos you can give them lots of exercise, and wrestle them, but for convenience sake, small dogs eat less, take less exercise, do smaller poops and can be picked up when necessary. Check out all the breeds, cos both big and little breeds have good and bad qualities. It all depends on your lifestyle, physical capabilities and finances. Something else to ponder is does it have long or short hair, because that also makes a huge difference to caring for a dog. Good luck, remember a dog is for life, not just for fun.

Both. The big dog would live comfortably outside. The little dog can stay inside with my cats.
I don't want a big dog though. They scare me.

I like all dogs, but the smarter ones seem to be the big ones. I have a small dog (dachshund) and he's a retard. LOL!
No, he's pretty smart and I love him dearly.
Australian shepherds are intelligent, loving, and loyal. Too bad they are a little bigger than I wanted for a house dog.

I have a huge phobia of big dogs, so i'd go with little dogs, and by experience they are not that fun and are a huge pain, so i'd go with neither. my mini pin ate everything, peed on everything even though she was litter trained and knew how to go outside... had to sleep in under the covers on your leg and barked at everything.... yeah. i'll stay dogless i think!
