You have a hardware problem. You may suffer from hardware damage in case you do not find out the cause of the problem.
Either your power supply or processor fan is not working. This increases the system temperature and hence it shuts down as the temperature gets too high. You must have the fans checked immediately.
Secondly, the sound may be coming either from a fan which is not working properly or from your hard disk. Scan your hard disk using scandisk and check for any bad sectors.

the sound you hear maybe your hard drive or your fan..Your own the internet so you are probably full of viruses. Do you have the original cd's that came with your computer? If so you will find it easier to reformat your hard drive and put you software back on it. Rather than using a virus software to clean it out.
That may sound too technical for you but that is the best way. You may have a HP computer where you have no disk, you can restore from the hard drive.
You can do it yourself, but it depends if you have the restore disk.

Dear Friend,
If you have an internet connection, delete the temperoray files in the folder"Temp".Also delete the unwanted files and folders.
Improve the RAM of your computer. It should atleast be 256MB Ram.
Avoid having large files like Films.
These would improve the speed of your computer.
Please make a service of your computer by the officials of the company of the computer[eg Compaq].
This would avoid the sound made by your CPU.
The most important thing is to improve your RAM.

Could be your fans making the noise, caused by dust. Take the cover off and blow some of that compressed air inside. But do it outside. :)
Try running scandisk and then defrag.
