Will there ever be a next series of the star trek trilogy ????

If you were the guy/gal that had the choice about what the next instalment series was to be about, what would it be ????

'I would like to see a series set quite far in the future if the Star Trek time line. Perhaps the future Captain Archer went to. That could be good. Or maybe a future where Klingon's are at their peak of power or maybe a future where the Romulans have control over the galaxy or where the Borg learn that not everyone wants to become like them? Or maybe a Star Trek set around the continuem and Q.
I could go on, but what I am trying to say is YES I HOPE SO!!! and here are a few of my ideas!!

Think Enterprise did the whole Star Trek Franchise a lot of harm look at the whole searching for a weaponn of mass destruction thing subtle I dont think so. DS9 was so different to anything else Star Tek had done yet become my favourite. I agrea any future sereis should be set in the far future maybe at a time when the the universe is in a really bad way and yes an alien captain as somebody earlyer suggested could be a good idea dont think theyve ever had a gay regular cast memer either could be a thought. Hope they come up with something any way it would be a shame if Enterprise was the last Series made in Trek brand

Well, it's already a couple of series past a trilogy; so far, there have been Star Trek (the original series back in the 60s); S.T. Next Generation; Voyager; Deep Space 9; and S.T. Enterprise. Add to that the fact of something like 10 movies so far, and the franchise is well beyond the trilogy stage. As to what's next - I'm honestly not a person who considers myself to be that creative, so I have to rely on people who are. I hope that if another series comes along, it will have good science fiction as its foundation; I believe that's why the original series, and the entire concept of Trek, has hung on for so long and had such a broad appeal.

Let's hope the next series they make last long enough to make 7 seasons as Enterprise lacked to do. So far every series lasted 7 seasons except Enterprise.

Anyways i would like a Star Trek series that is way into the future. Where Humans were almost destroyed and they will be rebuilding and making advances to their life and become very powerful and get pay back.

The Star Trek franchise is very old and lacking in creative vision right now. The next movie and the last series were prequels. Enterprise was boring and I am not expecting much from this new movie due out on 2008.

If it were me, I would take another stab at a TNG series, but focusing on Troi and Riker on his new ship and how good of a captain he will be making.

While Enterprise was cool in its own way, Trek has always been about the future. There is still tons of stories out there and lots of wide open plot threads, like the development of B4, the final fate and/or return of Ben Sisko, the treaty with the Romulans and there's always Q. Peter David wrote a great book called Q Squared, that I'd love to see made into a film. If William Campbell were available...

from what i made out there will be more, but it is on an extended break. voyager in my opinion was the best series, but when enterprise started to link the stories together as the end of series two that was great. if it were my choice, id like to see a new trek set in future after voyager. i would try to get a good mix of being away from earth for ages like voyager but link the stories together. not sure about the alien captain but.
slightly off topic, the new movie due out in december is set with a young kirk and spock. imo bad move. i hate how they decide to do earlier stuff.

its true, many (usually general fans and not trekkies) see it only
as a trilogy with TOS, TNG and Enterprise, and discard the
others (DSN, Voyager..) as being not as good attempts at trekkie
series-us-fun.

there wont b another series in a long time, NOTHING is
planned-but-a movie however is planned with the director of
Mission Impossible III, set to shoot this year and come out for the
summer of 2008. It will be focusing on Spock and Kirk from TOS
in their younger days!- sounds awful, I can imagine it as being a
cross between the neighbours/dawsons creek.. and er.. star trek.

I think the focus is on attracting a new teen audience for star trek.
Those hardcore fans just arent getting any younger. LOL :)

I would have liked to have seen a spin off from the Section 31 boys, who featured in some of the later DS9 stories.

Other than that, I would have had a time-travelling starship from the 29th Century, or something. The Starfleet from the future has made itself known to both Captain Archer and Captain Janeway, so why not make the next series about them?

I hope Paramount will do another Trek because Stargate Atlantis is about to be the only "other worldly" sci fi show worth my time.

I would like it to be about, well, anything good as long as they don't have Earth as a home base... let's see what Starfleet can do outside of Earth space again. Or maybe a different point of view, Romulans or Klingons...different war and society rules, so lots of stories to go on.
