I purchased a laptop believing I have Intel Centrino inside it. When I turn on the laptop, I see Intel Pentium M processor and never see the word centrino. Am I a victim of hardware replacement? Please enlighten me. Thank you.

- Centrino from Intel provides built-in wireless support for laptop computers, making it possible to run a laptop all day (up to seven hours) without a battery recharge.
The Centrino package consists of:
The Pentium M processor
A specific Chipset Family
And a PRO/Wireless network connection.

I hope that clarifies things better.

If i could, i will pass the tech mambo jambo and on to the point. Celeron is rather a lot a low end processor for low requirement jobs alongside with note processing, spreadsheet, it has small cache on the processor. Centrino is for notebooks, the computer bearing centrino badge could have on the spot outfitted in on the mobos Pentium is previous previous previous.. twin middle have 2 processor middle on an identical die middle 2 Duo actually have 2 processor middle on an identical die, yet use a lot less voltage & have more suitable ability... the perfect === middle 2 DUO for more suitable, please visit the intel internet web site...

I plan to make this easy for you.

Pentium is the big brother, while Centrino is the young brother.
In other words, Pentium is twice the price of Centrino.

Lastly, Pentium is much better than Centrino, much faster and more wanted,
