No , but what you do need is some form of identification ( issued by the Govt. of India) that you are an Indian. A valid passport , driving license ..etc are enough...

Yes I do agree with SKC that Indian Nationals do not require Visa to Travel to Nepal. you need to carry your passport or voters identity card or Ration Card or Citizenship card which has the photo identification while traveling to Nepal. This will help you if you require assistance from Indian embassy in Kathmandu. You do not need visa to visit Nepal. But if you are travelling by Air you should keep some Identity Proof with you. You can visit Nepal by Air or By Bus.

Driving licence and Aadhar card doesn't work. You must Carry Either passport or Voter ID card otherwise you wouldn't be allowed to check in.
