Oh thats happened to me, but the guy was out of his mind (bipolar & off his meds) so I ended up changing my number. It's really sad.

It does not matter whether you love a person or not because love do not happen at first sight! If you do not hate the person and thinks he's looks and character acceptable, there is no harm getting to know more about him by being friends.

no one can choose who they fall in love with, we can only choose who's love to accept.
I guess if it were me I would be a nice to them as possible, let them down as gently as possible, no one deserves to have there heart broken. You just make it clear in the nicest way that there is no chance of a relationship. Hope they take it well, we are not the keepers of other peoples hearts.

"do not marry whom you love
marry who loves you"
if you understand the meaning and the wisdom behind that then you will start to be very nice to that who loves you even though you do not love he

make it clear to them how you feel about them, leave nothing unclear or they WILL take it the wrong way
it will be hard but the longer you leave it the harder it will be.
