From someone who works at a high volume Honda dealership I can honestly say we have had no problems with the new 2007 crvs. however they are still too new. the motor and the drive-train are identical to the 2003 accord and crv (with the difference of the all wheel drive system) and have been updated each year.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'm a 6 year factory Honda tec. I will try and answer all I can.

Whatever you do, don't buy American or European made junk, built with low quality parts and requiring many repairs. I'm glad you are looking at Japanese and hopefully Korean cars for your driving needs. Honda has been rated in the top 5 worldwide for over 20 years now and this year the entire 10 top as rated by Consumer Reports contained no American or European brands...Mercedes ranked dead last at #36.
Honda's like Toyota hold their value and are considered bullet proof.

I own a 2002 CR-V, but have taken the 2007 model out for a drive. About the same performance-wise (to me at least). I believe fuel mileage is higher, though. I've not heard about any maintenance problems. Hondas are usually very reliable. Mine has been, anyway.

Excellent. I just bought one & love it. Am averaging about 24MPG. Handles well, great stereo, heated seats, LOTS of room. Nothing else comes close, except maybe Toyota RAV 4, but the interior of the toyota looks cheap. Also, it has MUCH better re-sale value than any domestic SUV -- by far.
