Having retired from NASA and his later teaching career at University of Cincinnati, Neil Armstrong (who's very much alive & well) keeps himself to himself on his farm on Ohio.

He's not a recluse as such, but just wishes to be treated as a private citizen.

By the way, in answer to the Crow Tribe's comment about Armstrong being the 2nd man on the Moon because the cameraman must have got out first - the camera was stowed away in the Modular Equipment Stowage Assembly (MESA) on Eagle's side, and Armstrong pulled a D-ring as he was descending the ladder which activated the camera.

neil armstrong never makes public appearances. i personally believe they landed on the moon. but the clangers used a mind erasing raygun on armstrong and he's forgotten everything about apollo 11. buzz aldrin however had a lovely time with the soup dragon. and is only too happy to talk about his experiences on the moon.
