Dennis Lilee of Australia was the first bnowler to take 5 wickets in a World Cup Match.

In the 3rd Match of Prudential World Cup played between Australia and Pakistan on 7th June, 1975 at Headingley, Leeds
on 7th June, 1975, Lilee bowled 12 overs, 2 Maidens, 34 runs and 5 wickets.
