STEP 1: Send Christmas cards to family and friends wishing them a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
STEP 2: Set up a live or artificial Christmas tree in your home. Decorate it with ornaments and lights.
STEP 3: Hang mistletoe in a doorway. It is traditional for people to kiss when they stand underneath this small, scented sprig.
STEP 4: Place lights and other decorations on the outside of your house and on your outdoor shrubs and trees.
STEP 5: Buy gifts for family and friends and pile them under the tree.
STEP 6: Hang stockings from your mantel so Santa can leave little items inside when he visits.
STEP 7: Ask your children to write down a wish list of the toys they would like to receive.
STEP 8: Share the list with Santa Claus so he can fill their requests. Expect him to arrive on Christmas Eve in a sled drawn by reindeer, carrying a red sack filled with gifts.
STEP 9: Play Christmas music in your house to get in the holiday spirit; some popular choices include "Silent Night" and "Deck the Halls."
STEP 10: Prepare a huge Christmas feast with foods such as turkey, ham, stuffing and vegetables; serve mince pie for dessert. Include other favorite recipes from your childhood holiday meals.
STEP 11: Attend church on Christmas Eve.
STEP 12: Remember that the true meaning of the season is really about giving.

I usually start celebrating Christmas in the various prepartions in November. Christmas parties, Christmas concerts and Christmas shows. We often go to Church on Christmas Eve. Have Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve. Unwrap presents on Christmas Eve. Relax and clean up on Christmas day. I decorate work before I decorate at home. These are just a few of the things I do.

There are 2 aspects to the Christmas holiday that are widely celebrated. The first, and most important aspect is to attend worship services, and celebrate the spiritual and religious "true meaning" of Christmas - the birth of Jesus Christ. This is done by attending church services and midnight masses on Christmas Eve, and Christmas day. There are nativity scenes and displays to visit, Christmas programs that tell the Biblical story. Gifts are given and service is done for other. Charity and the love of Christ abounds in people's hearts, it's easier to love your neighbor at that time of year.
The 2nd aspect is the "winter break", or vacation. People travel to see their families, college kids come home for a couple of weeks, skiing and sledding is available in parts of the country with snow. Cooking and making Christmas treats such as decorated sugar cookies and fudge is a big part of this time of year. Homes and businesses are decorated with lights and greenery, and the Poinsettia business enjoys it's once a year sales.

To celebrate christmas is like doing a summary analysis of what transpired in your life not only as a christian but as believer of one supreme being maker of heaven and earth and of all things seen and unseen. One can simply start with what significant events or happenings that occured from the very start of the current year. December is the best time of the year to celebrate christmas. This takes us back to the time when the angels appeared to the shepherds announcing "PEACE BE WITH YOU DO NOT BE AFRAID, BE JOYFUL I BRING YOU GOOD NEWS, A SAVIOUR IS BORN TODAY!". Christmas is the season of PEACE, HOPE, JOY and LOVE. Christ the saviour is God Himself sending Love as Jesus Christ in human form to save us all from sin. The world has been stained by the sins committed by mankind. God so much loved us, His people he created in His own image and sent Jesus to save us rather than punish us or exonerate His people. But God is too a Loving person and not a narrow minded being. As a person you too can celebrate christmas at anytime of the year when you change your ugly ways for better and give more of your own selflessly to others without expectation of repayment or return in kind or being. By sharing your time, talent, treasure and faith.
