Looking for just a really great read. I like any and all kinds of books, but most importantly I'm searching for a read that moves me and leaves me wanting more when its over. Some books to name a few that have had this affect are "To Kill a Mockingbird", Not Without my Daughter", "East of Eden", and "Little Women", again I love all kinds of books. THanks. (Please with your suggestion give reasons) thx again!

Sense and Sensibility : I grew so emotionally attached to the characters, when I was done reading, I couldn't stop wondering what happend next and wishing there was more to read.

The Scarlett Letter : You can figure out what is going on in the first five pages, but it is like trying to look away from a train wreck

The Bagambo Snuff Box : a collection of stories by Kurt Vonnegut, I finished them all and went back and read them all again

I know why the Caged Bird SIngs : Maya Angelo, It is just fascinating the way she writes and the way she tells her semi-autobiographical stories. One has to wonder where the line between fact and fiction stands in her novels.

'His Dark Materials' triolgy by phillip pullman. Begin with the 'Northern Lights' (book 1) a fantastic fantasy series about parallal worlds.

and I'm not sure you can acess these but if you can
'Tomorrow when the war' began by John Marsden. He is an Australian author. There are 7 books in this series and then another series of 3 books with the same main character. This seres is incredably moving and addictive. I won't give away the story but i promise you will be moved by the emotions and choices the characters make in these stories.

The instant I saw this question, a book popped into mind, but I can't recall the name. It is a series I read several years ago when I was young, but it made me ball at the end, which no book had EVER done. It was about a bat, and the books were like, Sunwing, Moonwing...something like that. Look it up. Its realy worth it.
A funny book but still quite good is like ...Foo. Just type in Foo in google and it will come up. Funny, alugh-at loud at some times, but since it is fantasy, it is quite good.

'The Da Vinci Code'
If you've seen the film the book is very un-similar. The book brings up some great concepts to discuss/think about.
Two books written about the same time as 'Little Women'
- The Water Babies' but get the original NOT the children's versions. The original comments on appalling child Labour and gives social comment etc.
'The Cuckoo Clock', by Mrs Molesworth; the end may make you cry.
Books by John Wyndham - seem to be Sci-fi BUT are ACTUALLY social comment.

Since you've read East of Eden, try Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men. You can probably read it in a day or two.

in case you're in seek of for a sophisticated e book try "Scarlet Letter" by potential of Nathaniel Hawthorne. i think that it became written interior the 1700's, and for that's time, it became very arguable. that's approximately adultery and human nature vs. sin. in case you like an outstanding teenage e book on vampires try "Twilight" and "New Moon" the two by potential of Stephanie Meyer. they are uncomplicated to be sure yet long (around 500 pages) that's a romance between a human woman and a vampire.

i honestly think that a great read is a book that makes you think. for me, it has to be "Great expectation" by Charles Dickens.
